Peamount United begin their campaign a week behind schedule after last week’s game against Shamrock Rovers was postponed late on.
Eileen Gleeson’s side are fired up to reclaim their title and will be gunning for all three points when they face Castlebar, who began with a 2-1 victory over Cork Women’s FC and go into this tie in confident mood.
“We’re have a couple of players out. Emma Mullin is out, Shauna Jackson will miss then next three to four weeks. Last week was a decent result against a good Cork side. We kept it going right to the end. It’ll be difficult against a top class team like Peamount,” said Celtic boss Adrian Carberry.
Peamount boss Gleeson said: “We’re looking forward to the weekend after the false start last week. We’ve a full squad and are keen to get going after not playing last week. We’ve signed Rebekah Carroll and Sarah Devlin from Shamrock Rovers and Jessica Corr has been promoted from our underage set-up. Castlebar always have quick attacking players and quality out wide so we know we’re in very tough game.”
