CORK Women’s FC will welcome Shamrock Rovers to CIT Stadium on Sunday looking to end their disappointing run without a point so far this term.
While the home side operate without Angie Carry, who is suspended, and Michelle Browne has joined their crippling long-term injury list, Cork will look to cause an upset against the Hoops.
“It’s difficult with all the injuries. The girls will give it 100 per cent as usual. It’s a big game for us. We’ve improved our defensive side of things but not scoring goals is an area that has to improve,” said Chris O’Mahony.
Rovers boss Stephen Craig would be happy with a repeat of the performance his side put on the last time the sides met but knows the Hoops must continue to improve.
“We’re scoring goals but conceding too easily. We’ve worked on that side of things. If we can lift the confidence again and get a repeat of the last time against them I’ll be happy,” said Craig.
“We’ve been unlucky with a few games recently and we want to get the three points this weekend as it’s important to break the losing habit.”
