THIRD placed Castlebar Celtic host DLR Waves looking to bounce back from last week’s 2-0 loss in Wexford. The Mayo side lead fourth-placed Wexford by a single point with DLR trailing Celtic by three points so the race for third spot is heating up.
Geraldine McLoughlin returns for Celtic but Emma Mullin (ankle) is a doubt while Aisling Egan is in Canada so is unavailable. Shaunagh Jackson back training but too soon.
“Last week was disappointing but we travelled down on the day of the game and it was too much to ask of the girls. We were playing a very good side and we have to learn from that experience,” said Celtic boss Adrian Carberry.
“We have respond this week. DLR are back in it and it’s a huge game for us. We have to be raring to go and after last week we know we have to perform.”
DLR coach Larry Mahony takes his side to Celtic Park looking to draw level with Castlebar. “Probably three sides can get third now and we’re all in the same boat – whoever can get a run of wins over last three or four games can get that spot,” he said.
“We don’t have Peamount or Raheny left but we have to do our stuff. We’re capable of getting a victory but I’m sure they feel the same against us. We played well last week and did so against Peamount the week before so we’re hoping we’ve hit a nice spell on consistency now.”
