BRAY WANDERERS
The Seagulls welcome Cork City to the seaside for Friday night's clash. Kick-off at the Carlisle Grounds is scheduled for 19:45.
There is lots of positive news coming out of Bray in the lead up to this game with regards to the injury front. Danny O'Connor and Shane O'Connor who have both recovered from Achilles and knee injuries respectively are now once again fit and available for selection.
The news even gets better for Bray as striker Ismahil Akinade is set to return to action after missing last weeks clash with Sligo due to suspension. This is great news for Bray as Akinade is the clubs second top scorer with eight goals so far this campaign.
Speaking ahead of Friday nights home game Pat Devlin was keen to point out the positives in Bray's play in recent weeks.
"We just need to continue the way we are playing. We have been doing well and our attitude has been spot on and we just need to continue in that vein and just keep playing and our luck will change".
CORK CITY
Cork are currently sitting in seventh place but know that a win has the potential to propel them up over Limerick while a defeat could see the club from the south of Ireland getting leapfrogged by a resurgent Drogheda United team.
In what was a nice change of events for Cork City fans, it was there team that scored a last minute winner against Bohemians. This goes along with Cork finally appearing to play with confidence now that the team is under the guidance of Stewart Ashton.
“It is an important game for us. After getting a win last week against Bohemians, it is another game against a team who are close to us in the table. It is important that we believe, that we keep playing and that we build on last week’s win.”
“It was good to get the win last week, but it will be significant if we can follow it up with another result and get some momentum going, rather than the inconsistency we have had up to now. We need to approach the game in the right frame of mind and hopefully keep going in the right direction.”
On the injury front Dave Ryan is a doubt with a groin injury although Cork have been greeted with the good news that their other trusted shot stopper in Kevin Burns has returned to training. Neal Horgan has a groin injury and is expected to have a late fitness test ahead of the game. Darren Dennehy and Kevin Murphy remain out thanks to foot and groin injuries.
Daryl Horgan is still suspended having been sent off against Limerick although City do welcome back Kalen Spillane from suspension for their trip to the seaside.
