COBH RAMBLERS
Cobh Ramblers are looking to get back to winning ways tonight with a win over high-flying Longford Town at St Colman’s Park. They have not won in their previous three games (since a 5-0 thrashing of Wexford Youths on the opening night) in all competitions, drawing 1-1 away to Athlone Town last time out. Previous to that, they fell to a 4-1 loss against Finn Harps on league duty and were knocked out of the EA Sports Cup by Waterford United.
LONGFORD TOWN
A win for Longford Town against Cobh Ramblers would move them back to the top of the Airtricity League First Division tonight. Both Mervue United and Finn Harps sit two points clear of the Midlanders but after those sides could only play out a draw last night, the onus is now on Longford to take top spot. They won their first two games of the season, beating Salthill Devon and Waterford United as well as advancing in the EA Sports Cup by eliminating Athlone Town before being beaten last time out in the league by Finn Harps and will be hungry for victory this evening.
Referee: Sean Grant.
