After a blizzard forced last week’s EA Sports Cup match at the RSC to be postponed, Cobh Ramblers make the trip again this evening to take on Waterford United. Kick-off 7,45pm.
Ramblers' return to the First Division got off to a dream start with a 5-0 win at home to Wexford Youths on the opening day with Conor Meade, Martin Deady. Alan O’Flynn and Jonathan Spillane getting their goals.
Conor Meade continued his goal scoring last weekend but couldn’t prevent Cobh going down 4-1 away to Finn Harps after conceding two goals in the opening ten minutes. The assembled squad is St Colman’s Park is sure to compete this season and plenty of League of Ireland experience in the new squad.
For the home side, Paul O’Brien will be hoping to see his side get a win under their belt after two league games without a win. The Blues let a goal lead slip at home to Finn Harps in the last minutes, before seeing Longford Town come from a goal behind to beat them on Saturday night.
Peter White (flu) should be fit enough to start while Dylan Mernagh and Michael Coady are doubtful. Peter Keegan continues his recovery from a knee operation. The Blues will also be without Jack Doherty who has travelled to Spain with the Republic of Ireland Under-19 squad for a training camp.
Referee: Graham Kelly
Odds: Waterford United 4/7 Draw 5/2 Cobh Ramblers 4/1
