Bohemians will be looking for their first win in four matches when they visit UCD tomorrow night (ko 7.45pm), but manager Pat Fenlon has said that the Gypsies will have to use some of their younger players in the match, adding that fans would have to be "patient".
Fenlon's side haven't won since they beat Drogheda United 1-0 on the 11th of March and will have to face the Students without six key players. Craig Sexton will start in goal, with Barry Murphy and Chris O'Connor both ruled out.
“There might be some young lads that are going to make their debuts on Friday" said Fenlon. "We have to try them, we have to see how good they are. We haven’t got anything else, and people will have to be patient." Fenlon was complimentary when speaking about his opponents' youth system, “In fairness to UCD, they keep producing players", Fenon said. "They have some decent players that we would have been chasing over the years. There should be a fair few young players on show, which will be good for the game.”
His counterpart, UCD manager Martin Russell, was equally respectful when speaking about Bohs, saying that he hopes his side learns from the meeting with the 2009 Champions. “Despite Bohemians restructuring they are still able to field a team with league winners and guys that have European experience, our young side is looking forward to that challenge, from which they can learn a great deal."
Russell will be missing both Cillian Morrison and Sean Harding through injury, a pale imitation of Fenlon's injury concerns. The Bohs boss will be without six first teamers along with doubts about Killian Brennan.
