In-form Derry City should overtake Sligo Rovers at the top of the Airtricity Premier League table, if they defeat bottom of the table Galway United at Terryland Park tonight (kick off 7.45.p.m)
The Candystripes come into tonight's game having won three of their last five League games, and it would be a major surprise if they failed to beat the Western club.
Derry boss Stephen Kenny is eager for his side to continue their recent run of form, which also included a 3-0 victory against UCD in the League Cup. "We've been on a good run of form and want to continue that. Every three points away from home you have to earn and Galway is no different" revealed Kenny.
This will be Galway's first game since the club's management committee passed a motion of no confidence in manager Sean Connor following the 1-0 defeat against Drogheda United on July 22nd. United, who currently have just five league points, have won just one of their 24 Premier Division matches this season and have conceded 23 goals in their last 6 games.
Connor will be in charge for the visit of Derry. Johnny Keane and Sean Kelly will both miss the game with knee injuries, while Yob Son, who was sent off on his debut against Drogheda is suspended for Galway.
