This year's surprise package Bray Wanderers travel to struggling Galway United on Friday night in Terryland Park (KO 7.45).
Wanderers, who sit only three points adrift from the top will be looking to record a double over Sean Connor's men, mimicking their fortunes over the top club, Shamrock Rovers. They have played one game more than the top two teams but Bray will be delighted to be in the position they are in now and will be looking for further improvement.
Galway for their part are looking to stem the tide of losses that has seen the club flounder at the foot of the table. Despite the financial worries at the club, ten league losses in a row was never envisaged by even the most cynical supporters.
Adam Mitchell serves a one match suspension for the visitors after picking up four yellow cards. He adds to a long list of absentees from Fridays game for Wanderers. Stephen Brennan(calf),Gary Shaw(foot),Dave Webster(ankle) and Jake Kelly(hamstring) are all on the sideline. John Mulroy, Daire Doyle and Chris Shields all have question marks over their heads, each with strains and may miss the trip also. Stephen Last comes in as cover.
Director of Football Pat Devlin is not letting over confidence creep into the clubs preparations for a match against a side they met in the Play-Offs last year, "we remember Galway from the play-offs last year,we will have to go there and work hard if we want the desired result".
Sean Connor's injury worries continue and are doubly confounded by some players absence via the Leaving Cert. Shane Keogh and Darragh Duggan are both sitting exams for the next two weeks. Shaun Kelly is suspended following his yellow card in the FAI Cup. Joseph Yoffe continues on the sideline with a ankle injury and is joined by Sean Kelly who sustained a knee injury last time out.
Sean Connor may be able to avail of two new summer signings however. Ian Rossiter and Jonathan Keane are two new fresh faces in the Galway ranks and might add fresh impetus into the struggling side.
Connor stated "Every game is a massive game. We've gone 10 League games without getting a point, we need to stop the rot. We've just been keeping our heads down, trying to stop the run of form we're currently on."
