Galway United will look to continue their dominance over Bohemians when they meet in Terryland Park this Friday afternoon. The home side have beaten Bohemians in four of their last five meetings. Kick-off: 7.45.
Galway United’s solitary victory this term came against Bohemians in a 1-0 win in Dalymount Park, but the westerners come into Fridays encounter with considerably poorer form than their counterparts. Bohs sit in sixth place with 19 points, 14 more than the home side.
Sean Connor will have to plan without three players for the match through injury. Gary Curran (broken metatarsal), Joe Yoffe (Ankle) and Alan Murphy (groin strain) are all absentees.
“Galway have a great record against us,” Bohs boss Pat Fenlon said. “But we’ll be confident going down. We haven’t played a team that has outplayed us.”
Fenlon knows that his players “have to start putting teams away” when they dominate games as they did on Monday against Dundalk. Reacting to that defeat, he said he was “disappointed for them [the players] because they put so much effort into the game”.
The away side must plan without keeper Barry Murphy, midfielder Glen Cronin and striker Christy Fagan. Anto Flood returns to Terryland Park against Sean Connor’s side for whom he competed in 16 games last season. He's likely to encounter Shaun Maher, the Ex-Bohs man who has been attempting to block the leaks in the United defence.
