Bohemians -v- Galway United

In form Bohemians welcome table footers Galway United to Dalymount Park on Friday night hoping to make amends for the last time these sides met in Phibsborough when Galway ran out 1-0 winners. (Kick-off 7.45).
However, since then these two sides’ fortunes have contrasted greatly. Indeed that game, way back in March, was Galway’s last league victory and Sean Connor’s men are currently on a run of 15 straight league defeats. All would suggest Bohs should come out of this one with all three points.
Pat Fenlon’s men have been imperious lately. They beat rivals Shamrock Rovers midweek in the Leinster Senior Cup and before that, recorded victories over Dundalk, Drogheda and Bray, and have scored nine goals in the process.
Much of this improvement has been down to striker Chris Fagan’s return from injury, and the impressive forward partnership he has formed with Anto Flood. The two are likely to start on Friday night and will surely cause the Galway defence a problem or two.
It’s not all plane sailing for Bohs with the midfield trio of Glenn Cronin, Robert Bayly and Lee Dixon all suspended, while Chris O’ Connor continues his recovery from injury.
Galway’s poor form sees them lie bottom of the table and after last week’s painful 4-3 loss to UCD, the men from the west are now six points behind Drogheda United – the side who represent Galway’s only hope of survival.
They will have to do without the services of Jonathan Keane and Sean Kelly who are both injured while Enda Curran is rated as a doubt with a foot injury.
Regardless of injuries to both sides, Bohemians are in a much better place going into this one, as the league standing indicate, and the Phibsborough club should record a business like, and potentially facile victory.
