Sporting Fingal host league champions Bohemians on Monday evening in Morton Stadium, beginning the second series of matches in the Airtricity League Premier Division. (kick off 7.45pm)
The sides last met in the Leinster Senior Cup, when Fingal won 2-0 in Dalymount Park but the opening match of the season saw Bohs come away with a win.
Fingal come into the game undefeated since the opening match of the season. Last Thursday they played out a 0-0 draw against UCD, following a 2-1 win against Dundalk the previous week.
Sporting Fingal are missing John Frost and Shane Barrett through injury while Shaun Maher is doubtful.
“Everyone will remember the last League clash between the sides on the opening night of the season when just a dubious penalty late in the game separated the sides”, Sporting Fingal manager Liam Buckley said.
“Just a few weeks later we were back at Dalymount Park winning 2-0 in the Leinster Senior Cup so the teams will know plenty about each other already. Our aim at the outset of this campaign was to be competitive and I think we’ve shown in both games against Bohemians that we’ve lived up to that expectation.”
Bohs poor start to the season continued on Friday as they lost 1-0 to Dundalk on Friday. After three wins at the start of the season, Pat Fenlon’s team have now picked up just two points from their last five matches, and have lost their last three.
Bohemians will welcome back Raf Cretaro and Ken Oman after suspension and will travel to the Morton Stadium with a full squad.
Tonight’s match also sees Sporting launch a new initiative which sees primary school children admitted free of charge to all home league matches this season.
