Galway United -v- Sligo Rovers

Fourth from the top Sligo Rovers travel the short distance to fourth from bottom Galway United on Monday night (kick-off 7.45pm) in this Airtricity Premier Division clash.
The number four plays a prominent role for both these teams at the moment. Aside from their league positions, this will be their second game in four days. Galway United were on the wrong side of a four nil scoreline against resurgent Bray Wanderers. Sligo Rovers seemed to try their best to ruin a four goal advantage against Sporting Fingal, but held out for a 4-3 win despite three goals in the last 13 minutes from Fingal.
Galway United manager Sean Connor will be looking for a vastly improved performance from his Tribesmen. With UCD snapping at their heels, Connor’s team will need to bounce back and show the form that has seen them draw with Pats, and defeat Salthill, Drogheda and Bohemians in recent weeks.
To help in this task, Connor welcomes back Rhys Meynell and Paul Sinnott. Ciaran Foley may also be in line for a return.
Sligo boss Paul Cook will be without John Dillon for the game. Dillon’s back injury kept him out of the dramatic 4-3 win against Sporting Fingal last Friday night and he will miss out once again. Apart from Dillon and long-term absentees Mauro Almeida and Richard Brush, Cook has a full squad to pick from.
If you are superstitious or think history has an effect on results, Sligo have not won in Terryland Park since the opening day of the 2007 Premier Division season.
