Bohemians return to league action on Friday night after their disappointing Champions League exit and will face bottom of the table Bray Wanderers in the Carlisle Grounds (kick-off 7.45pm).
Bray come into the game on the back of a 3-1 win over UCD in the Leinster Senior Cup. However, despite the win, the Seagulls have only managed one win out of 20 in the league this season. Their last league game was a 4-0 defeat against the Students.
Manager Eddie Gormley thought his team did well in the first half of that game and could have gone in at half time leading.
"Two big decisions in the second half went against us and then we were caught twice as we tried to chase the game. Our second half performance just wasn't good enough but the two decisions didn't help our cause".
He added "We need to pick ourselves up and start picking up points. Bohemians are coming into the game off the back of a defeat in Europe but we are fighting for our lives".
Veteran Colm Tresson (calf) and the experienced Stephen Brennan (calf) along with long term injury victims Richie Baker and David Tyrrell will sit out Bray's clash. There are also doubts about James Kavanagh who had to be replaced in Monday night's win due to illness and John Mulroy who picked up a thigh injury in the same game. No decision on their availability will be made until Friday.
Bohemians currently sit only five points off the top of the league with two games in hand. The Gypsies league away form has been good this season with six wins from their ten matches on the road.
When the sides last met a Killian Brennan strike and a Daire Doyle own goal handed Bohs a 2-0 win in The Carlisle Grounds in June.
Anto Murphy and Steven Gray will miss out again as both continue to recover from Achilles injuries. Raffaele Cretaro is also out with a hip flexor problem. Aaron Greene completed his return from injury, playing in last week’s friendly against Wolves and making a substitute appearance against TNS on Tuesday. Gareth McGlynn, suspended in mid week, will return to the squad.
Bray Wanderers:
Injured: Colm Tresson (calf), Stephen Brennan (calf), Richie Baker and David Tyrrell
Doubtful: James Kavanagh and John Mulroy
Bohemians
Injured:Anto Murphy, Steven Gray and Raffeale Cretaro
