Reigning League champions Bohemians welcome bottom of the table Bray Wanderers to Dalymount Park this Tuesday night in a game that could signal the end of Bohs league dominance.
Lying eight points off Shamrock Rovers at the top of the Premier Division table, the game is a must win for Bohs who can jump from fifth to third with a win. Bray Wanderers currently sit bottom of the table but have closed to within five points of second from bottom Drogheda United.
Friday night saw Bohs go down 2-0 at home to Galway United to further put their title ambitions in doubt.
"It leaves us in a bad position”, Bohs manager Pat Fenlon said. “We’re disappointed we gave away two silly goals again. Its one game at a time. The lads have got to pick themselves up. We have to work as hard as we can to try win the game. We have to concentrate and work a little bit harder.”
Bohs are again without Stephen Gray and Anto Murphy who have both failed to respond to treatment in Achilles injuries. Gareth McGlynn missed the defeat to Galway and may not be fit in time.
For manager-less Bray, Friday’s 3-2 win over high flying St. Patrick’s Athletic was a much needed confidence booster as they face a struggling Bohemians side.
Team captain Daire Doyle and Adam Mitchell will both miss the game through injury. Stephen Brennan and Chris Shields, who both missed out on Friday, come back into the squad. Pat Devlin has also added Ian Tuohy and James Kavanagh to his squad.
Director of Football at Bray Pat Devlin was delighted with the win against St. Pat’s but knows Bohs will offer a similar challenge.
"I was delighted with the performance; the lads did really well and deserved the three points.” Devlin said. “I wasn't happy with conceding two goals but Rome wasn't built in a day. Going to Bohemians will be very difficult for us, despite what people say Bohemians probably have the strongest squad in the League, and it’s not an easy place to go to. We go there with more confidence after the win on Friday night and hopefully we can give them a good game.”
