Limerick FC -v- Waterford United
- David Byrne
- Fri, Jul 02 2010
- New signings Stephen O’ Flynn and Dave Rogers will be ready to line out for Limerick on Friday
- Waterford have also changed faces over the break. Midfielder George O’Callaghan and striker Gareth Cambridge are no longer a part of the teams plans and have both had their contracts terminated by mutual consent. Stephen Henderson has moved quickly to replace the departing players, with the addition of three new faces in Paul Murphy, Shane Barrett and Michael Coady.
- Friday’s game will be the third meeting of the Munster rivals this season and so far its advantage Waterford having taken three points from their league meeting at the RSC and Limerick were shocked in the Munster Senior Cup when Waterford advanced to the final after a convincing 3-0 win at Jackman Park.
- “Derry dropping points is a bonus, of course, but all we have to do is look after ourselves, starting with the next game against Limerick because that will be a really tough game” – Stephen Henderson
- “ We have added to our squad with no less than eight new players over the break so this will keep all our lads on their toes as we push on after the mid-season break.” – Pat Scully
- “It’s too early to get carried away. The players have been brilliant and now we’re in the position we want to be in, we want to challenge for promotion. But we must keep focus and realise that we have to keep doing the things that got us here.” – Pat Scully
