Limerick entertain Athlone Town at Jackman Park this Friday night with a win seeing Limerick move into the playoff spots depending on other results. (Kick-off 7.45 pm).
In a game which Limerick will look to win for obvious reasons, Athlone will look for their first win in six games. However, their form is surely set to change with their latest additions. In an ironic twist, Jason Hughes, who is on loan from the Shannonsiders, will return to Jackman Park in the blue and black of Athlone. Limerick fans will also welcome back Wayne Colbert who was a popular figure amongst the Limerick faithful not so long ago.
The home side come off back of the four-nil thrashing of Shelbourne in Tolka Park, whilst Athlone enter this tie after picking up a point against Waterford last week. Brendan Place will be looking to upset a Limerick side who have also added experience recently, bringing in Thomas Heary and local hero, Bobby Ryan from Galway United.
Pat Scully was delighted with his team last week stating "The lads were excellent in the second half against Shels last Friday night. We needed the three points, and we got them.
He was under no illusions about Athlone's ability though "Athlone have been excellent of late and we will have to play as well as we did in the second half against Shels for the entirety if we are to prevail."
Paddypower.com Odds: Limerick 4/11 Draw 3/1 Athlone Town 13/2
