Following their European heroics, St.Patrick’s Athletic have now got to focus themselves on staying in the League Of Ireland’s Premier Division and picking up point’s in Ireland’s elite domestic league doesn’t come any more difficult than when faced with Bohemian’s FC who themselves are busy trying to win yet another league title. Events will unfold in this Dublin derby on Tuesday night at Richmond Park (Kick Off: 7:45 PM).
Pat’s had an excellent victory over their capital city rivals at the start of June though Bohs had little difficulty in dismantling Jeff Kenna’s side when the Saints visited Dalymount earlier in the year and while Pat’s have European success to cheer, it has again been the Dalymount club who are setting the standard, sitting three points clear of Shamrock Rovers while Kenna’s side languish disappointingly in seventh.
Bohs manager Pat Fenlon goes into the game full of confidence given his team’s recent impressive run and is expecting a tough game from the Saints: “It should be a good game. We’re going into it in good form and St Pat's have had a fantastic result in Europe during the week.”
As always when the two clubs clash; supporters from both sides are sure to be in full voice and Fenlon is looking forward to the derby day atmosphere: “I’m sure the Pat's supporters will come out in big numbers and we usually bring a huge travelling support there too. With a good atmosphere and with the pitch always being good at Richmond, it has the makings of a good game.”
Fenlon is likely to go into the encounter minus key players Jason McGuinness and Anto Murphy. Owen Heary is also touch and go.
Kenna, for his part will be hoping Gary Dempsey can shake of an ankle injury picked up in the Bank Holiday Sunday fixture with Dundalk while the game once again comes too soon for both Gints Friemanis and Captain Mark Quigley.
This game should be a high quality and entertaining fixture.
Extratime.ie Prediction: A score draw here, 1-1
