Shamrock Rovers -v- Galway United

The penultimate game in Shamrock Rovers league campaign takes place on Friday night as they welcome Galway United to Tallaght Stadium (kick-off 7:35pm). So much is on the line in this game. A defeat for Shamrock Rovers, and Bohemians could lift the title on the night. A defeat for Galway United and depending on the St. Pat’s result, they could find themselves in a relegation playoff spot entering the final series.
Galway’s form is consistently patchy. Currently on a two game losing run, manager Ian Foster will have his work cut out to change that on Friday against a side that has taken 24 points from a possible 27. Add to that the fact Shamrock Rovers have no injuries or suspensions and hold a 100% winning record against the Tribesmen in the league this season and the omens are bad for the team from the West.
Foster will be without captain John Russell, out with an ankle injury. Mark O’Toole is also unavailable. Alan Murphy is a doubt going into the clash.
It’s very hard to see beyond a Shamrock Rovers win. The paddypower odds appear to agree. Extratime.ie prediction for the game is a 3-1 win for the home side bringing the league campaign down to the wire.
