Galway United -v- Cork City

Galway United fans will be hoping Friday night's encounter with Cork City (kick-off:7.45pm) will be their last visit to Terryland Park this season, as their side strive to avoid dropping into the impending play-off battle. They will not have it easy, though, against a Cork City side who themselves need a point to guarantee third spot and the possibility of European football next season.
Ian Foster's side will be desperate for a win to avoid an anxious wait at the final whistle to hear how events have unfolded at Inchicore and The Showgrounds. Suspensions and injuries make this task an especially onerous one, with the form of Barry Ryan and Aaron Greene offering some hope of a positive result. However, the Leesiders have clearly had the upper hand on the Westerners this season, and a change in this trend is not anticipated.
