First Division table toppers UCD travel westwards on Monday night (kick-off 19:45) to take on Galway United in the EA Sports Cup Quarter Finals.
Having played out an entertaining draw against Waterford United on Friday, UCD now face Premier Division opposition, and manager Martin Russell will be looking to field a full strength team in order to defeat the Tribesmen.
Russell will have to plan without the services of John Reilly who is ill. Sean Harding and Greg Bolger are both out injured.
Ian Foster will also have to deal with a number of absentees. Shane Fitzgerald (ankle), Alan Murphy (ankle) and Sean Kelly (knee) will all miss the tie; however, Derek O'Brien is available after suspension. Galway had an impressive three nil win over Bray Wanderers in the league last week and Foster will be looking for the form to follow into Monday’s game.
“It’s a competition that I think we can win, it’s a competition that we all want to win,”
“I don’t know how long it’s been since we’ve had some silverware at this football club, but it’s there for us really. It’s a quarter final at home against a very good UCD team who are playing well in the league at the moment and we’ll go and try and win the game.”
Kick-off is 7.45pm in Terryland Park
Extratime.ie Prediction: 1-1 at full time. (penalties to decide it)
