Sporting Fingal vs Kildare County

Sporting Fingal host struggling Kildare County, in the first set of league fixtures since the break, looking to repeat their comfortable two nil away win at station road earlier in the season.
Sporting went into the break in buoyant mood following their FAI Ford Cup third round victory over Premier Division outfit Cobh Ramblers. Liam Buckley’s side were in fine form in May with four wins and a draw before their eventful loss to Dundalk in their last league game before the break which put them a distant nine points behind league leaders and local rivals Shelbourne.
Kildare improved their league form from woeful to patchy in May with home wins over Monaghan United and Wexford Youths overshadowed by disappointing performances against Shelbourne, Dundalk and Longford.
Dave Rogers and Colm James are suspended for the home side but have no injury worries. Liam Buckley has added former Boh’s striker Willie Doyle to his squad.
Kildare team news to follow…
Speaking of Kildare, Buckley was respectful of the task at hand:“They are a side that we have defeated already in the league but perhaps they have not achieved the results that their displays have deserved.
“I watched them play against Longford Town earlier in the season and they were unlucky to come away from Flancare Park without the win.”
Despite these words however, Buckley and his playing staff are well aware that nothing less than a win here would suffice if they were to hold any hopes of catching Shels’ at the top.
Kick Off in Santry is 19.45
