DLR Waves -v- Raheny United

DLR Waves will look to bounce back from last week’s disappointing home loss to Castlebar Celtic when they host title-chasing Raheny United at Jackson Park on Sunday.

Raheny need to keep winning to put the pressure on leaders Peamount United and were 2-0 winners at Shamrock Rovers last weekend. Megan Campbell is unavailable, Katie McCabe and Shauna Newman are away on U19 international duty.

“We are looking for consistency. We are following up one good performance with a poor one so I was disappointed that we didn’t win the game last week. We created enough chances but didn’t take them. It is back to the familiar role of underdogs this week as Raheny will be the favourites. They’ve so many good players and it will take a big performance from us to match them,” said DLR coach Larry Mahony.

Raheny coach Sean Byrne said: “DLR are a strong side and we’ll have to be at our best. Our focus is just on the this game and we’re not concerned about anything other than getting a performance against DLR.”
