Bohemians V Shamrock Rovers

You often hear a lot of guff about the great derby games across the world that “every football fan must go to”. Celtic-Rangers, El-Classico, Boca Juniors-River Plate, Man Utd-Liverpool etc etc. Personally, those games are like UCD-Bray pre-season friendlies compared to this one. The sheer, white-hot hatred and passion involved would be all too much for a neutral fan. The fixture turns men into what can only be described as feral creatures. On the field, after last season’s 4-0 Dalymount tonking, the Hoops will be out for revenge on a grand scale. With the class at their disposal and payback on their minds, an away win looks like the only outcome. Odds on 8/11 is a scandalous price in my opinion. These games are often tight – so a single goal victory looks interesting.

Bray Wanderers v Cork City

Cork were absolutely electric in the second half of their deserved win over Bohs on Friday. Bray, as predicted, had no interest in their defeat to Sligo. I fancy Cork to continue their good run and they look a steal at 21/20 here.

Sligo have been mightily impressive so far. Two clean sheets as well. Expect that trend to continue.
