Sligo Rovers link up with local hotel

League of Ireland champions Sligo Rovers have revealed that they have completed a three-year partnership deal with the city’s Clarion Hotel.

The deal in place will see the Bit ‘o’ Red use the facilities at the award-winning gym and swimming facilities on offer at the hotel’s Sanovitae Health and Leisure Centre in helping the players and staff.

Speaking about the deal, chairman Tony Quinn said: “This agreement is another valuable asset to the club commercially and for the top-class facilities provided by the Clarion to our first-team squad.

“We are pleased to continue this relationship for the next three years and this will benefit the club and the players, extending the excellent collaboration over a considerable period of time.”

Manager Ian Barraclough was equally pleased with the deal believing it will be helpful to continuing Rovers’ success.

“The services at the Clarion Hotel and the Sanovitae Health and Leisure Centre in particular are very important to us,” he said. “They are of an extremely high standard and allow us to prepare for each challenge in the best possible fashion.”

Also delighted at moving this partnership forward is Niall Walsh, who is the Sanovitae Club manager at the Clarion Hotel.

He said: “One of the core values of the Clarion Hotel, Sligo is the support of the local community and with this in mind, and following on from our partnership with Sligo Rovers over the last five years, we are delighted to extend our sponsorship of the club for a further three-year period.

“With the club entering this season as reigning Airtricity League champions, we could not be prouder to the supporting the team during what is the most successful period in their history, and we look forward to working closely with Rovers over the coming seasons in their quest for further success, both on and off the pitch.”
