McAllister Volkswagen sign deal with Shels

Shelbourne will be sponsored by McAllister Volkswagen this season after they announced the deal this week.

The company are located in north Dublin and are one of the biggest names in the Irish automobile industry and serviced the first ever motor car that arrived on these shores.

Not unlike the club itself, McAllister Volkswagen are also enjoying a resurgence at the moment having joined the Joe Duffy Motor Group late last year which is the nation’s leading Motor Retail group.

Managing director of the group, Gavin Hydes, said of the new deal: "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of Shelbourne FC's return to the highest level of national league soccer.

“It is exciting times ahead for Shelbourne and indeed McAllister Volkswagen, we know with hard work and determination we can look forward to watching the growth and success of both teams in their respective leagues".

The club also commented on their joy at this deal being finalised with Commercial Director Neil Fitzmaurice saying: “We are delighted to have McAllister Volkswagen join us as our main sponsor for the 2013 season.

To have a main sponsor of the calibre of McAllister Volkswagen associated with our club is fantastic and gives everyone at the club a great lift as we embark on the season ahead.”

He continued: “Our thanks goes to Gavin Hydes and his team at McAllister Volkswagen and to Simon Elliott and his team at Volkswagen Ireland, for agreeing to come on board with Shels this season.”

Simon Elliott, who is CEO of Volkswagen Group Ireland is also happy with the deal and doing their best to help support the Irish football domestic scene.

“We are great supporters of Irish soccer here in Volkswagen and we are delighted that there is yet another strong association between one of our Volkswagen dealers, and a top club like Shelbourne FC.”
