Cork City confirm Brosnan signing
Cork City have announced the signing of former Limerick winger Seán Brosnan ahead of tomorrow’s Munster Senior League tie with Douglas Hall.
Brosnan had been training with the Leesiders over the past few weeks and came off the bench in the club’s recent friendlies against Longford Town and Cobh Ramblers.
Equally adept up front as on the wing, the 20-year-old who has represented the Republic Ireland at Under-17 and Under-18 level will add further depth to Tommy Dunne’s attack as he prepares for the new season.
Indeed Dunne has been on the receiving end of Brosnan’s attacking prowess when Brosnan scored the second of Limerick’s goals in their 3-0 EA Sports Cup win last year.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, City boss Tommy Dunne commented: “Seán has been in training with us over the last couple of weeks, and he has done well. He is based in Cork and attending UCC, so it makes sense for him to sign with us.
“He’s a good lad and he trains well; he was in training with us before and we didn’t have room for him at that time, but we do now and I hope he does well.
“He has not come in just to make up the numbers, and I hope he can push on and challenge for a place in the first team.”
