Sligo Rovers complete Elding signing
Sligo Rovers have confirmed that striker Anthony Elding has signed for the club for the 2013 season.
Elding joins Rovers from Grimsby Town with over 120 career goals so far in club football that includes spells with Preston North End, Leeds United and Hungarian side Ferencváros.
The 30-year-old bolsters Ian Baraclough’s attacking options and the Rovers manager has said: "Anthony will bring a lot of strengths to our squad.
"He has a good record of scoring goals in the Football League with around a one in three ratio. He has played with some very good clubs and has some great experience even including in Europe with Ferencváros .
"I think he has a number of attributes to make him the right player for us. While he is a powerful striker, there is more to his game to label him as just that and his all-round game will aid us.
"Ultimately some of Anthony's best work comes in the penalty area and that is a fantastic attribute to have as a striker. Danny North is a couple of months away from returning and Anthony will hope to show what he can do.
"The prospect of the possibility of the two together later in the season is exciting. I think Anthony can make a big impact with us."
