Cork City have announced the signing of English winger Adam Rundle.

Born in South Shields, Rundle began his career in the youth set-up at Newcastle United and played under Roddy Collins at Carlisle United. He also played for Collins at Dublin City, making eight league appearances for the club in 2004.

It was during his time with the Vikings that Rundle met former England international Carlton Palmer who he subsequently played for at Mansfield Town. But Rundle’s longest spell was at Rochdale where he spent three and a half years amassing 148 league and cup appearances.

Since then Rundle has played at Rotherham United, Chesterfield, Morcambe, Gateshead and Darlington, where he has been playing on a non contract basis since January 2012 when the club were forced to release their entire playing staff due to financial pressures.
