After the addition of Vinny Perth to his coaching staff, Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny has confirmed that Graham Byrne has also joined the backroom.

Byrne will come in to take charge of the strength and conditioning of the squad as Kenny looks to have his troops at their physical peak for the opening night of the season on March 8th at home to Shamrock Rovers.

The 28 year-old is the head of fitness at DCU and has also worked with numerous Irish Olympic athletes in the past. Kenny will be hoping that this experience will prove valuable to his new look Lilywhites for the 2013 season.

Speaking to dundalkfc.com the Dundalk boss is delighted with the addition of Byrne and hopes he can add a new dimension to the dressing room.

“Graham has a lot of experience in football and will help us with strength and conditioning. He is head of fitness at DCU and also works with a number of Irish Olympic athletes. It’s great to have him on board as he is a top professional and will be a positive influence in the dressing room”.
