Paddy Madden to complete permanent Yeovil move
Former Bohemians striker Paddy Madden is set to complete a permanent move to Yeovil Town, where he is currently on loan. The transfer is for an undisclosed fee and with a sell-on clause attached, keeping the Irish U21 international with the Huish Park outfit until the summer of 2015.
The Dubliner has been in excellent form this season, scoring nine goals for the Glovers. This good form has led to manager Gary Johnson working to secure his services from Carlisle, and it now appears that a deal has been agreed.
Johnson, speaking after Yeovil’s 3-0 win over Leyton Orient, said: "Paddy's our player. I have been dropping little hints for a while to everyone but I have not been able to say too much.
"We very early on spotted his potential and we felt early on that we would try and broker a deal for him to come here full time and that is what we have done.
"The paperwork will go through, it has already been agreed and Paddy Madden is a Yeovil Town player and from day one always was.
"He is going to be worth whatever we pay. It was a good deal anyway. Paddy came here, enjoyed it here and the supporters, players and directors made him feel comfortable.
"He is a great finisher and a super runner. He will have his ups and downs but it is a good goal return from him and James Hayter, who is still doing the business."
Madden has been joined at Huish Park Stadium by former Shelbourne midfielder, Kevin Dawson, who has joined the club until the end of the season.
