Dundalk have announced the signing of Keith Ward from Bohemians. The 22 year-old returns for a second spell at Oriel Park having spent one season at the club in 2011.

The midfielder, who originally signed for Ian Foster from UCD in the winter of 2010, was a key figure for the Gypsies last term as they secured a safe mid-table finish. Ward, an exciting attacking midfielder, was part of the Lilywhites side who reached the Setanta Sports Cup final during the 2011 season, where they were beaten by Shamrock Rovers.

In his previous spell in County Louth, he made a slow start to life in Dundalk but improved as the season went on and he made 47 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals throughout. Ward was a first-team regular during his previous spell and fans will be hoping that the former Student can continue his impressive form in a Lilywhite jersey.

Ward is new manager Stephen Kenny’s fifth signing as he builds his squad for the 2013 season joining the re-signed John Mountney and Eoghan Osbourne and the new pair of Patrick Hoban and John Dillon. Dundalk are hoping to announce further signings in the coming days.
