Sligo Rovers have announced a new partnership with Umbro this afternoon.

A lucrative three-year deal was agreed today with the kit manufacturer as they become the latest Airtricity League side to wear the Umbro brand. It was revealed on sligorovers.com that the deal will be worth a minimum of €150,000 and up to a maximum of €240,000 over three years.

Speaking to the official website, club chairman Dermot Kelly believes that bringing Umbro Ireland on board is a testament to how much progress the club has been making in recent seasons.

"This is an exciting new development for Sligo Rovers. We are delighted to welcome Umbro on board with us and we believe it is a relationship that will allow the club to further our ambitions and goals. Our success in recent seasons has been built on hard work and determination to be the best in every department. Umbro join us to help us grow further and the agreement is a testament to our progress. It is the result of many hours of work by all the club's volunteers."

This new deal also brings the curtain down on Sligo Rovers partnership with Jako Ireland who had been the clubs long-term kit suppliers.

"On behalf of Sligo Rovers we express our utmost appreciation to Jako Sport and Nicky and Fiona Broujos for their outstanding long-term contribution to the club. Nicky and Fiona are personal friends of mine and if there is a disappointment in the deal it is that it puts an end to the formal relationship between Jako and the club.

"This decision was not taken lightly but as a club we feel it would be irresponsible not to pursue this agreement for Sligo Rovers. We wish Jako Sport the very best in the future."

Jonathan Courtenay, Manager Director of Umbro Ireland, also spoke about their new partnership with the League Champions and he looks forward to working closely with the club over the next three years.

"Umbro Ireland are delighted to be coming on board as kit partner to the Airtricity Premier Division Champions Sligo Rovers. We look forward to working closely with the club over the coming three years as well as supplying the best football product to the team and its fantastic fans."
