Devine signs new deal at Derry
Just over a week after he managed Derry City to the FAI Cup, Declan Devine has penned a new deal to keep him with the Candystripes until the end of the 2014 season.
Although the Brandywell side had a difficult league campaign, finishing fifth thanks to a strong run-in after a woeful middle third of the season, the cup run proved to be quite a fillip for the northerners.
A statement released on the derrycityfc.net website, read: "In the wake of leading the Candystripes to the FAI Cup, Declan Devine has been handed a contract extension which ensures that he will remain in charge of the club until the end of the 2014 season."
City had defeated St Patrick's Athletic in the cup final at the Aviva 3-2 in extra-time, with Rory Patterson coming off the bench to score twice.
