Live: Airtricity Premier Division - Final Day

The final day of the Airtricity League of Ireland 2012 has arrived. After 272 games in the two divisions, we are down to the final five. The First Division finished two weeks ago with Limerick being crowned Champions, but on Friday night the second leg of the playoff between 2nd and 3rd takes place. Waterford United have a two goal advantage over Longford Town going into the game and they are favourites for to book a meeting with Dundalk for a place in the Premier Division 2013.

In the Premier Division, the bottom three places have been decided: UCD, Bray Wanderers and Dundalk cannot alter their positions. Shelbourne could move up two places if they were to win and other results go their way. Bohemians and Cork City will be looking to win their games though in order to move into 5th, a spot Derry City occupy. A win for Cork will all but seal it for the Rebel Army unless Bohemians can win by a substantial margin.

The only other possible movement is the battle for 2nd and 3rd. Drogheda United are in 54 points with 12 for their goal difference. Pats are on 52 with 21 goals. Any slip up by Drogheda United against Bohemians and Pats will have the chance to move into the runners up spot. However should Pats lose and Shamrock Rovers win and swing goal difference by four, they could take 3rd place.
