Neil Doyle has been appointed to referee the FAI Ford Cup Final between St. Patrick’s Athletic and Derry City. Joining him to officiate the game will be first assistant Emmet Dynan, second assistant Robert Clark and fourth official Damien Hancock.

The 34-year-old has been refereeing since 1995 and was a graduate of the FAI’s first School of Excellence for referees. He was appointed to the FIFA list in 2011 and recently took charge of a World Cup qualifier between San Marino and Montengro.

This will be Doyle’s second time to referee at the Aviva Stadium, the first being last year’s game between Celtic and a select Airtricity League side in the Dublin Super Cup.

The Referees Observer for the match will be John Stacey, who took charge of the FAI Cup Final and replay between Bohemians and Shelbourne.

John Ward, the Chairman of the FAI’s Elite Referees Committee, offered his congratulations to the selected officials for this year’s Final.

“The appointment to officiate on the FAI Senior Cup Final is the highest honour in domestic football and on behalf of the Elite Referees Committee I offer our congratulations to the four officials on their selection for this year’s final”.

Tickets for the final are priced at €10 for adults and €5 for children and are on sale from both clubs, Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and www.ticketmaster.ie
