First Division side at home for Play-off 2nd leg
The FAI have confirmed the details for the upcoming Airtricity League promotion/relegation Play-Off. A draw took place at FAI headquarters to decide the order in which the final Play-off will be played.
The winners of the First Division Play-off, Longford Town or Waterford United, will have home advantage in the second leg of the final against Dundalk. The first leg will be played at Oriel Park on October 30th and the return leg will be played at either Flancare Park or the RSC. Both games will kick-off at 7.45 p.m. with Setanta Sports confirming they will show live coverage of the first leg at the moment and will decide after the game whether they wish to televise the second fixture.
The Play-off series begins this weekend with First Division hopefuls Longford Town and Waterford United set to do battle at Flancare Park on Saturday evening while the Blues will host The Town at the RSC a week later, on Friday October 26th.
The winners over the two-legs will go on to play the Lilywhites with the winners securing a place in the Airtricity League Premier Division 2013.
Should either Play-off finish level after the conclusion of both legs, an extra-time period of 30 minutes will be played. If a winner is not decided following the additional period of play, the lottery of a penalty shoot-out will take place to determine the winners.
