Republic of Ireland U19 manager Paul Doolin has had to make one further change to his squad for this week’s UEFA Champions qualifying tournament.

An aggravation of a recent ankle injury has forced Inverness CT midfielder Conor Pepper to withdraw from the squad.

Newcastle United midfielder Brandon Miele has been called up to take the place of Pepper at the squad’s base in Luxembourg.

Doolin spoke about the 18-year-old’s injury and the effort of his players in training this week.

“It’s unfortunate for Conor as the injury was innocuous enough but you can’t afford to take chances with these things.

“Training has gone well and we’re looking forward to the challenge ahead. It’s difficult to get all your ideas across when you have limited time with the squad but I’ve been pleased with how the lads have responded.”
