Fenlon to announce Under-23 squad on Monday
Republic of Ireland Under-23 manager Pat Fenlon will announce his squad for the upcoming game against Belgium this Monday.
A draw is all that's needed to guarantee Ireland a place in the Final.
Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Scully has confirmed to extratime.ie that goalkeeper Barry Murphy is back to full fitness. Murphy is expected to be included. Brendan Clarke was the squads other keeper last time out. Darren Quigley was included for the previous game, and is now available again after injury.
Shamrock Rovers players thought to be in contention for their first call up to the squad are Simon Madden and Padraig Amond. Amond could possibly take the place of Dave Mooney who has since joined Reading from Cork City. Former Millwall player Ross Gaynor, now with Cobh Ramblers, is another possible option. Gaynor has already lined out for the Irish Under 21's.
Bohemians midfielder Gary Deegan will also be hoping that he gets his first call up. His performances of late would seem to make it impossible for him to be overlooked.
Ian Birmingham and Seamus Coleman have been included in the Under 21 squad that play in Lithuania on October 14th - they will therefore be absent from Fenlon's plans on this occasion. Galway winger Jay OShea was surely set to be involved, but he too has been called up by Don Givens.
