Midfield duo leave Leesiders

Cork City have confirmed the release of midfield duo Graham McCarthy and Cathal Lordan.
McCarthy had signed for the club earlier in the season from Avondale United, but with first team opportunities limited, has decided to end his relationship with the midtable side.
Lordan, meanwhile, the younger brother of former club captain Cillian, has left the club to join Munster Senior League outfit UCC.
City boss Tommy Dunne acknowledged the duo for their efforts: “I would like to thank both Graham and Cathal for their contribution to the club. Cathal has been here for a number of years, and having been very unlucky with injury, has moved on to pursue his education at UCC.”
Dunne also confirmed that defenders Eoghan Murphy and Stephen Carroll, graduates of last season’s U19 team, have joined College Corinthians on a temporary basis, to allow both players to play more regular first team football.
