More televised League of Ireland games announced

 

The arrangements for the FAI Ford Cup semi-finals were confirmed on Tuesday along with the re-arrangement of Airtricity League fixtures for those clubs involved and confirmation of the broadcast of a number of games live on television.

 

Both FAI Ford Cup semi-finals will take place on Sunday, October 7.  It is a lunchtime kick off in the first semi-final with the Derry City v Shelbourne game in the Brandywell Stadium kicking off at 13:45.  The second semi-final will take place in Oriel Park later that day with a 15:55 kick off between Dundalk and St. Patrick’s Athletic.

 

Both matches will be shown live on RTE TWO and should any replays be required they will take place on Wednesday, October 10.

 

The semi-finalists have had to re-arrange their league fixtures originally scheduled for Friday, October 5 to fit in their semi-finals.  On Monday, 1 October, Shelbourne will travel to Hunky Dorys Park to take on Drogheda with a 19:45 kick off.  At the same time, St. Patrick’s Athletic will play UCD in Richmond Park.

 

The other two cup semi-finalists will go head-to-head in the Airtricity League on Tuesday, October 2.  The league game in the Brandywell between Derry City and Dundalk will have a 19:45 kick off.



 

Also announced on Tuesday, three more Airtricity League games will be broadcast live on television.  Drogheda United’s home game against St. Pat’s on Friday, September 28 will be live on RTE TWO with a revised 19:05 kick off at Hunky Dorys Park.  RTE TWO will also be showing the game between Sligo Rovers and St. Pat’s on Saturday, October 13.  That will be an afternoon kick off in the Showgrounds at 15:45 to facilitate the live TV cameras.

 

Setanta Sports will televise Sligo Rovers’ game against Derry City on Saturday, September 29.  The game in the Showgrounds will have a 19:45 kick off.

 

This weekend there are two live games on RTE TWO.  On Friday, September 22, Bray Wanderers play Sligo Rovers with a 19:05 kick off and on Saturday, September 22, the EA Sports Cup between Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United kicks off at 17:45 both in front of the live TV cameras.
