Ballinamallard United stunned Cliftonville on their home patch with a last minute winner that sees the North Belfast side slip off the top of the table.
Cliftonville were the dominant side in the first half creating a number of goal-scoring opportunities with Stephen Garrett hitting the woodwork being the closest they came. The Fermanagh side improved in the second half and struck the woodwork twice themselves through Ryan Campbell and former Manchester United trainee Chris Curran.
When just as it looked like both sides would have to settle for a share of the points, up popped Jason McCartney to snatch all three for the visitors.
Coleraine are the new league leaders after a comfortable 2-1 win over Lisburn Distillery. Two early goals from defender David Ogilby and Stephen Lowry put the Bannsiders in control who held on despite having Kyle McVeigh sent off late in the game.
Andrew Waterworth’s impressive start to the season continued when his two goals helped Glentoran to a 3-1 win over Dungannon Swifts and go second in the table.
They replace Crusaders who went down 1-0 away to Glenavon in a game in which the home-side dominated and Crues had goalkeeper Sean O’Neill to thank that the margin wasn’t greater.
Ominously for the rest of the league Linfield moved into sixth as two William Murphy goals helped the champions overcome Portadown 4-2, despite being without strikers Peter Thompson and former Dundalk player Matthew Tipton.
Donegal Celtic moved off the foot of the table, picking up a point with a draw against Ballymena United though it could have been so much better for the West Belfast side as they led 3-0 in the first half but they were pegged back by a second half comeback by United.
