Murphy deal off
Dundalk have confirmed that the proposed signing of local goalkeeper Paul Murphy will not take place. An issue with transferring from the Irish League, where he had lined out for Carrick Rangers, has prevented the deal from going through.
Interim manager Darius Kierans had hoped to re-sign the 'keeper for what would have been his third spell at the club. However, the complications have forced the 27 year-old's move to fall through.
Kierans has been on the look out for a reserve 'keeper as youth goalkeeper Finnian Farrelly has college commitments and is unable to stay with the senior team. Kierans will now turn his attentions elsewhere in a bid to find a backup to Peter Cherrie.
