Dundalk have confirmed that they have re-signed local goalkeeper Paul Murphy until the end of the season. Returning for his third spell at the club, Murphy will act as an understudy to Peter Cherrie who has had a fine season for the Lilywhites.

The 27 year-old rejoins the club after having a spell in the North with Carrick Rangers, where he featured in 12 matches in the second half of the season but suffered relegation. He originally signed for his hometown club in 2004 under Jim Gannon and then returned under Ian Foster in July 2010 and remained until the end of the 2011 season.

Ger Hanley, who had been signed by Sean McCaffrey, had been released due to budget cuts and Finnian Farrelly, the club's youth goalkeeper, had been back up to Cherrie however his college commitments have meant that he is unable to stay with the senior squad.

Interim manager Darius Kierans has confirmed he is on the lookout for more players to bolster his squad and is hopeful of confirming those in the coming days.
