NI Premiership Round-up - Week 2
The second round of matches in the Danske Bank Premiership continued to throw up surprises as newly promoted Ballinamallard United hammered Lisburn Distillery 5-0 and moved to top of the league on goal difference.
Jason McCartney scored a hat-trick for the Fermanagh side as they cruised to victory in only their second ever game at this level.
Linfield find themselves in the unusual position of second from bottom after a goalless draw against Coleraine in Windsor Park. The Blues have yet to score in six competitive fixtures this year and although they created the most clear cut opportunities they were outplayed for long spells by Coleraine who will feel that they may have deserved more from the game.
Portadown are in second place by virtue of a late equaliser against Donegal Celtic by former Dundalk defender Gary Breen, who scored for the second time in two league games.
Glentoran are also on four points as they claimed a point against Glenavon who look set to welcome Mark Farren to their ranks after the Derry City striker signed a pre-contract agreement with the Mourneview Park side.
Elsewhere Cliftonville shared the spoils with Dungannon Swifts while Ballymena United played out a goalless draw away to Crusaders.
