Exciting times at Oriel Park as Dundalk welcome UEFA Champions League holders Chelsea to County Louth in a friendly tonight. The visitors, which will be made up mostly of youth talent, come to Dundalk in a bid to raise some much needed funds for the club and indications are that ticket sales have gone rather well in the past few weeks.

The current FA Cup and European champions travel to Dundalk with a youthful squad but one with some names to look out for in the future. Nathan Aké, Dutch under-17 captain, Chelsea under-21 captain Todd Kane, Irish striker Patrick Bamford,George Saville and Scotland's Islam Feruz are just a few of the prospects expected to line out for the English outfit.

Dundalk have had their own fair share of financial trouble this season and this is one of the bigger fundraisers they have organised. General manager Paul Johnston is hoping for a big turnout and is delighted with the response there has been not just in the Dundalk area but throughout the country.

We are delighted to be welcoming a team with the stature of Chelsea. We have been promoting the game for the last 6-8 weeks so we’re hoping for a big turnout,There has been very big interest from around the country, with ticket sales linked to Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Galway, Mayo, Cavan and right around the country.

“Many of those areas have Chelsea Supporter Clubs and they have bought tickets in numbers, with some Supporter Clubs buying over 50 tickets for the game."

Tickets are still on sale for tonight's match but only a limited number are available now due to the high demand. Fans are being advised to purchase tickets in advance. Stand Juvenile tickets have sold out with only some adult stand tickets are available.
