Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of Scottish striker Liam Buchanan until the end of the season.

Buchanan has been without a club since May after Dunfermline were relegated from the Scottish Premier League where he scored six goals in 15 starts.

The 27-year-old has also played for Cowdenbeath and Partick Thistle, with his most prolific season coming in 2006-07 when he scored 24 goals in all competitions for Cowdenbeath.

In almost ten years in Scottish football, Liam has scored 109 goals in 310 appearances and is seen as an ideal signing for League leaders following Danny North's injury that has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

His new club hope to have him in the squad for this week's trip to Shelbourne as they enter the final series of games of the season.
