Cork City have announced the signing of midfielder Keith Quinn.

The 23 year old midfielder joins the Rebels after spending a short time without club after being released by Monaghan United after they dropped out of League of Ireland football. Quinn has also played for Sheffield United, Waterford United and Sporting Fingal.

Quinn spoke to CorkCityFC.net shortly after putting pen to paper this afternoon and is pleased to have signed for a club of Cork's stature.

“I am pleased to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the country. The set-up here is brilliant and I have been very impressed with the manager. I have been over in England on trial so I have done a pre-season and have played a few games, so I’m fit and I’m very eager to get going now and start training with the lads. I have obviously played at Turner’s Cross in the past and the atmosphere was electric, so it is definitely a place that I am looking forward to playing.”

Manager Tommy Dunne also spoke about his new acquisition and revealed Quinn may not be the only arrival at Turners Cross this month.

“Keith is a good player and he also has plenty of experience of the league. He has been over in England on trial and he did have offers there, so I am delighted that he has signed for us. He is a naturally left-footed player who gives us options out on the left, so I hope that he will settle down and bring something extra to the squad. We have been speaking to a couple of other players and I would hope there will be developments on that front over the next couple of days.”
