Big blow For Rovers As North out for season

Sligo Rovers striker Danny North will miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured cruciate ligament.

North, who is the Bit O'Red's top scorer in the league this season, revealed on Twitter earlier:

“Ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament, out for the season, gotta have an op, devastated,”

The former St. Pats man limped off in the second half of Sligo's Europa League defeat to Spartak Trnava on Thursday night and today's scan appears to have shown the injury to be worse than initially feared. 

Sligo Rovers have yet to make an official comment on the issue.
