Tough potential opponents for Irish clubs in Europe
The draws for the Third Round of the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers were made on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland. Shamrock Rovers played out a 0-0 draw against Ekranas in Tallaght on Tuesday and should they progress, they will face Belgium side Anderlecht.
In the Europa Cup on Thursday night, Sligo Rovers suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Spartak Trnava whilst St Pats narrowly missed out on victory, conceding in the last minute of the game, to draw 1-1 against Siroki Brijeg.
If Sligo overcome Trnava, they will face Steaua Bucuresti of Romania, whilst St Pat's potential opponents will be Hannover 96 of Germany.
